Note to self - a pair of mounting tabs on the back of the vertical supports might facilitate debugging.

A docking station would make a detachable keyboard/display into an excellent remote!

First successful print for Indymaker 4! Only a 10mm calibration cube, but it still makes me happy.

Indymaker z-axis cailbration

Endstops installed and tested. First thing the machine needs to know before a print is how far it can move in any direction. This calibration test starts with the extruder nozzle right at the printing surface. It then moves all the way up and records the distance. Design goal was 60mm, measures 64.7mm. The reinforcements on the frame work as expected, it's quite sturdy

Filament tension springs

Filament tensioners installed. There's probably a clever way to do it with only one spring.

The leverage of the control arm is enormous, just a tweak on those tiny springs produces a wide range of tension, from easily pushed to locked in place.

I need to cut some new plungers (the current ones are way too long, just placeholders) and install this. Then it should print!

Rack Re-installed

Quick! Snap the photo! I caught a sunbeam coming in directly on the filament input.

One of the actuators had to be removed to get the rack back in. That's clumsy.
